History is brought to life each year by Carrickfergus Historical
Re-enactment Group. The Carrickfergus Pageant, which marks the landing of King William III, Prince Of
Orange in 1690 on his way to the Battle of the Boyne, is recreated at Carrickfergus harbour with the famous Castle as a
backdrop. |
|
|
Normally there are over 100 re-enactors from a variety of European countries. Some on foot and
some on horse-back, taking part in the colourful display. All wearing uniforms from the Williamite period and lead by Sir
Henry Inglesby's Fife and Drum Corps.

|
Over 10,000 people come to watch as the main parade of 20 bands, re-enacters, Orangemen and Women
wind their way through the old town to the Castle.
